The Dads, a Comedy Album made for Road Trips
The Dads Good Kids Daad City is easily one of the most fun projects I've made. I have so much gratitude for the people involved with the project. I want to thank my fellow performers Sam Butler and Jack Anderson as I love performing with them and I love whenever they let me on their podcast. I never envisioned creating an album with these characters as we just decided to play them on a whim back in 2019 but I'm sure glad we decided to do this together. I missed these characters and I'm glad they've grown as well. I'm looking forward to continuing to create more comedy in the future with them and independently as well. I also want to say thanks to Megan Kelly for finding us Hannah Vail as she was amazing and so easy to work with. Megan has consistently been a creative force in a ton of my projects.
Tyler Sells did some amazing artwork for us and I can't wait to have a physical print in hand. I'm a huge fan of what he does and I think people should pay attention as he's continually trying to improve his art.
Suzanne Sittko, Gian Carlo, and the rest of my family, I played out-of-context snippets for you guys and you laughed at them giving me the inspiration to finish the project to the best of my ability. Thank you for your genuine feedback.
Last, but certainly not the last on my mind was my Dad. I'm sure my fellow performers like myself drew very little from our Dads but we still got inspired by them nonetheless. Dave Garrison is so far away from who my dad is it's funny to see him wonder if he inspired that character. We probably took little minute things they did and turned it all the way up to 11.
I am grateful for the handful of listeners. It's most certainly a journey to listen to it. Right now at Bestworstcantina.com we have the sixteen-track album and through our streaming services, we have the deluxe edition with around 45 minutes of extra material. It was made for those long trips where you just need something to keep you up. I love getting in the car and turning on a good story or a comedy album and in some ways, I made this for myself.
Wherever your next journey is, if you take The Dads with you we thank you greatly. We wouldn't be here without any of you.
